An Entrepreneur’s Journey from Zimbabwe to the US

The Atom Team

We are joined by Kuda Biza, a serial entrepreneur who started his first company at the age of 9 years old in Zimbabwe and proceeded to co-found a number of businesses including a mission-based baked goods company that donates meals per product sold and a non-profit organisation that provides scholarships to underprivileged children, as well as an experienced e-commerce innovator and author.

We discuss topics such as the liberating quality of entrepreneurship through the ability to earn money and gain some form of economic independence whilst solving someone’s problem at the same time, the mindset and willingness to act that can drive a person to reach for the best circumstances they can find to achieve success, and the ways that the internet can help people to showcase their talents and gain new opportunities even if they live in a region that is considered to have less prospects.

Even though internet access can help many people to overcome certain barriers to entry that may have existed 20 years ago in certain areas or countries, there are still infrastructural challenges that can be presented in areas where the electricity or internet speed can be disrupted often. This is where that drive and mindset to showcase your talents in whichever ways you can is really significant in breaking through and taking advantage of whatever opportunities you find.
