Mentoring scaleups at Pennovation Works

At the beginning of this year we took a decision here at Atom CTO to expand our reach and to start working with accelerators and incubators across the pond in the US

The first accelerator we reached out to was 1776, an accelerator based in Philadelphia, and after meeting Charlotte, Tracy and Melissa we quickly realised that our organisational goals were aligned: to use our knowledge, experience and network to help startups get the help and advice they need to grow and succeed

Since February we’ve been an active member of 1776:

  • We’ve sponsored the very first pre-accelerator run for product based businesses
  • We’ve been providing regular office hours, and
  • We have been conducting workshops for their members

During this period our CEO, Bhairav, has had the pleasure of working with a number of startups in the construction, AgeTech and HealthTech space and I’m pleased to say that through our network in the the UK we’ve managed to bring businesses together from both sides of the pond in collaborations that will see both companies grow

This focus on collaboration and bringing together networks and new ideas is what excites us here at Atom CTO and I’m pleased that we will be furthering our work through our participation in the new 6 week accelerator programme launched by the Pennovation Centre, a partner of 1776 and an accelerator tied to the University Of Pennsylvania

Over the 6 weeks the companies will be taking workshops on topics such as market assessment, business plan development, pitching and building a team.  We’re looking forward to meeting the companies this week and are excited to see the new innovations they are working on
